Comprehensive List of Segwit2x Stances for Exchanges

With the upcoming Segwit2x fork of the Bitcoin network, we felt it prudent to notify our users of how it may affect their cryptocurrency portfolio and balances. The Segwit2x hard fork will occur at block 494,784 on approximately November 16th, 2017.

Below is a comprehensive list on cryptocurrency exchanges/services and their stances on Segwit2x. As some sites have switched sides, just having signed the NYA does not by itself show support for Segwit2x. If an exchange was not included in the below list, our team could not find any announcements for said exchange. Any name in bold is an exchange.

We will try to update this list as we can, and please do not hesitate to let us know if we missed a site’s announcement.  Find our list below:

Binance – Tentative support for Segwit2x (announcement here).

Bitcoin Unlimited – Node software already supports Segwitx upgrades. Miners must manually configure software (announcement here).

Bitfinex – Tentative support for honoring Segwit2x balances (announcement here). New chain will be listed as B2X.

bitFlyer – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Bithumb – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

BitMEX – As of now, will not support Segwit2x (announcement here). Original chain will still be listed as BTC.

BitPay – Will follow the chain with the highest accumulated difficulty (announcement here). Will refer to the minority chain as BC1 (if Segwit2x is the majority) or BC2 (if Segwit2x is the minority) with no further support for the minority.

Bitso – No formal announcement, but will be supporting Segwit2x (announcement here).

Bitstamp – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Bittrex – In the beginning, will support Segwit2x (announcement here). “BTC” will remain the existing Bitcoin chain with 1 MB blocks until the industry and ecosystem demonstrate a clear chain preference. If community chain preference remains unclear, they may open up B2X markets.

Blockchain.info – Tentative support for Segwit2x (announcement here). Hash power will decide which chain Blockchain follows.

BTCC – Will support Segwit2x (announcement here). Hash power will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

BTC Markets – Will support Segwit2x if there is sufficient community and miner support (announcement here and here). Hash power and/or market capitalization will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

CEX.IO – Will honor Segwit2x balances as well as enable trading (announcement here). New chain will be listed as B2X.

Coinbase – Will honor Segwit2x balances as well as enable trading (announcements here, here, and here). Hash power will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

Coinfloor – After the fork, if determined that both forks remain significant, will issue the coins resulting from both forks. Otherwise, will not list the losing fork and will continue to refer to the prevailing fork as “BTC”, “XBT” or “Bitcoin”. (announcement here).

Coinnest –  Full Segwit2x support (announcement here).

Coinone – Planning on full Segwit2x support (announcement here).

CoinsBank – Reported to Bitcoin Magazine that they will not be supporting Segwit2x.

Gatecoin – Will not support Segwit2x (announcement here).

GDAX – Will honor Segwit2x balances as well as enable trading (announcements here, here, and here). Hash power will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

Gemini – No explicit support for or against (announcement here). Hash power will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

Exmo – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Exodus – Investigating solutions on how to handle fork (announcement here). Access to keys means users will be able to claim Segwit2x balances regardless.

HitBTC – Tentative support of supporting Segwit2x (announcement here). New chain will be listed as B2X.

Huobi Pro – Will honor Segwit2x balances as well as enable trading (announcement here).

itBit – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Kraken – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

LakeBTC – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Ledger – Will support Segwit2x (announcement here). Original Bitcoin chain will be called Bitcoin-1x and Segwit2x chain will be called Bitcoin-2x.

Liqui – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

OKCoin/OKEX – Will support Segwit2x (announcements here and here).

Poloniex – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

Quoine – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.

The Rock Trading – As per Bitcoin Magazine, they are unsure as to if they will support Segwit2x. If they do, it will be listed as B2X.

TREZOR – Will support Segwit2x wallets (announcement here).

Vaultoro – No explicit support for or against Segwit2x (announcement here).

WEX – Will not support Segwit2x (announcement here).

Whalepool – Will not support Segwit2x (announcement here and here).

Xapo – Full support for Segwit2x (announcement here). Hash power will decide which chain is listed as BTC.

YoBit – No announcement on Segwit2x as of yet.
