Adopting New Symbology for Tweets Moving Forward

Following StockTwits recent announcement of their new symbology for cryptocurrencies and tokens, here at Coinigy we have decided to adopt this new standard moving forward. This is in regards to the default tweet of a chart, and involves the addition of a ‘.X’ to an asset’s ticker. Some examples of how an asset will appear for a tweeted chart include:

$BTC.X for Bitcoin
$ETH.X for Ethereum
$XRP.X for Ripple

This is to help differ cryptocurrencies and tokens from traditional securities with the same ticker. We hope that as the blockchain space continues to grow, this clarification will cause less confusion for those coming into the space as well as allow existing tickers to go hand-in-hand with these new ones.

Big thanks to StockTwits for devising this!
